Standing Committee of Convocation
Convocation is the name given to a very large group of University supporters, including all graduates, members and past members of the University Council, some members of the academic teaching staff, and invited members. There are currently over 100,000 members of Convocation.
The Committee's mission is to advance and promote Macquarie University and its graduates through the members of Convocation by developing and enhancing the University's image and reputation and that of its graduates both nationally and internationally, providing support for the University and its objectives and providing additional revenue sources for the University.
The Committee provides a two-way link between the graduates and the University, assists in the promotion of the University's ongoing endeavours, acts as a fundraising arm of the University and encourages benefactors and sponsors and helps promote the University to the wider community as an educational institution of quality, relevance and scholarship.

Annual General Meeting 2008
The Standing Committee of Convocation will be holding its Annual General Meeting at 12pm, 16 October 2008 in Parliament House, Macquarie Street, Sydney. The meeting will precede the Annual Parliament House Luncheon for Macquarie's alumni which commences at 12.30pm.
APPOINTMENT OF FOUR MEMBERS OF THE STANDING COMMITTEE OF CONVOCATION MACQUARIE UNIVERSITY
The four new appointments announced at the Annual General Meeting for a period of three years are:
